Turkey on the Run - Three years runnin'...

We have been running the Annual Turkey on the Run - ThanksgivingAddie and Roper bundled for the run... Fun Run for 3 years.  The 2010 was a blast....of chilly cold at 10 degrees but we bundled up and went to it. 

INFO PROVIDED BY TURKEY ON THE RUN - Turkey On The Run is great way to kick off your holiday season with fun and fitness! Our 5k Run/Walk, 12k Run and Kids Run will start and finish at beautiful Rotary Park in Wenatchee, WA. The run starts at 9:00 am sharp for both distances. There will be day of registration. Age group winners will receive great prizes and we will have great raffle prizes for everyone! Please bring a canned food donation, to help support our local food banks!



Healthy summer options in Mazama Valley

It might be surprising to hear that our family's busiest time of year is spring and summer.  Scott has some downtime in the winter but come Mid-March cherries are in bloom and then summer brings the intense harvest period.  Those of us with husbands who harvest fruit affectionately call ourselves Cherrie Widows. With our busy schedule I try to squeeze a couple of days to get out of dodge (husband in tow).  Traveling too far is out of the question when dealing with the ragin’ spring hormones of Mother Nature.  You never know when she is going to send an icy chill our way. Or she could throw a summer outburst of straight rain close to harvest time.  With those thoughts I mind we have to book short trips close to home.  Luckily we live in an area rich in recreation.  In my search to lay out summer recreation options for my family I found this cool site for Mazama Valley Summer Trails Association.  Check out the site then go out and start exploring!

Turkey on the Run - A new family tradition

Last year our little family of four (plus one neice) participated in the Annual Turkey on the Run - Thanksgiving Fun Run.  Although no awards or trophies were taken by the Driscoll Family running team, we had fun. We saw friends.  Plus, we got a head start on burning away the Turkey dinner calories....come join us!
