    just getting by...

Commiserating with a friend the other day I realized the distance I have put myself from happiness in the past few months.  At first, I attributed my lack of will to the busy schedule of managing my family, two tasting rooms, inventory, soccer schedules, cherry harvest, buying new land, evicting renters, renovating....but I realized that this is a deeper issue than busy.  It is a self respect issue.  Working out makes you feel good...I don't feel good.

Yesterday I was put over the top when I read an expert from Good To Great that reminded me that “when things are going wrong, a true leader looks in the mirror to examine the cause.”  The cause is an issue of dignity.  So the workouts resume...send me some encouragement.  Those of you who know me KNOW I would not ask for help unless I really need it.

SIZE 8!!! But not ready to celebrate

This week has been a little rough trying to get back on the workout wagon.  I am sore, tired and really want a glass (or bottle - noonw can say for sure) of viognier at the end of the day.  Today's cardio took two sessions.  I was so winded after 10 minutes, I took a walk around the house to collect my breath.

After another 15 mintues, I cooled down, took a shower and started getting ready for my day.  That's when I spied a pair of size 8 jeans that I have not worn in almost 2 years.  I considered to give it a go.  I squeezed in, buttoned them and sat down.  Now I DID fit into them.  I just could not breath whiling sitting.  Standing yes, but once I sat, it pushed all my intestines, kidneys, bladder and other organs into my diaphram, lungs and chest cavity.  Oh well, maybe next time....end of March!

    found some missing muscles...

My new routine has reminded some of my deep lying muscles that they too have to pull their own weight along htis journey.  Lunges prompted my hamstrings to wake up and boy did they!  I am so sore today.  Unfortunately I have to be inthe car for about 6 hours....not looking forward to no room to walk this achy day out.  Maybe I will have time between meetings.

I flipped today with yesterday.  I did my lower body and cardio so that today Ii could gete to meetings in Spokane.  I will do my cardio sprints tonight.

Tomorrow is Thursday and my goals are to get myh 2nd round of upper body, a cardio session, and reconnect with an old friend for lunch.

    burpy Becky...

Wierd that since I started working out, I have had the burps.  I know it is not the nicest thing to read but it is strange.  If any of you know why - let me know what's up with that!

My lower body work out breezed by today.  It is so nice to see the changes in only 2 1/2 short weeks.  This weekend I am getting my hair done, my toes and a "spray tan" (all Christmas gifts I am cashing in).  I am excited to get some primping done.

Tomorrow I am in for another weight lifting day.  I had to swap Wednesday and Thursday so tomorrow I do upper body then it is my free day...I am looking forward to a glass of Feilding Hills or some Stemilt Creek....yum!
